(I originally bought a children’s book, but I was with my father and he rushed me into purchasing a Dr. Seuss that didn’t have enough dialogue or adequate images to work with, so I just decided to use one of my old Street Fighter comics instead. They’re surprisingly insightful if you ever have the chance to read them. Also, this page set up worked a little better on Microsoft Word. Up here, I had to put the images near the bottom.)

Honda, Rolento, Hakan, Dan Hibiki, El Fuerte, Rainbow Mika, Hugo, Sagat… Cool Teacher: Okay, okay. (To another student) What about you, Pal? Are there any characters that you don’t recognize? Other Cool Student: I think I’ve seen this guy with the red skin and blue hair… But I’m not really sure. Cool Student: That’s Hakan! You don’t know him? Cool Teacher: It’s alright. There was probably a time when you didn’t know all of the character either. |

Cool Teacher: I know, right? So, how would you describe this? Cool Student: They’re fighting. Cool Teacher: Yeah, but what’s going on? (Looks to another cool student) Other Cool Student: (Scoots slightly closer) Umm… Ryu is standing up, while Akuma (who is currently transformed into Oni) is mad and glowing blue. And then he uses a ki based attack. Cool Teacher: (See a teachable moment or term… or something) Okay, so you said Oni’s glowing blue, right? So what’s that making everything around him do? Other Cool Student: Um… Cool Student: It’s making the ground shake and the wind blow! Cool Teacher: Yeah? Okay, so what’s that doing to Ryu’s pants? Cool Student: Um… Move? Cool Teacher: Yeah, it’s making them ripple. (Looks back at the other student) Also, you remember when he was mad? Other Cool Student: (Nods) Cool Teacher: Well, there happens to be another word you might use when someone is mad. It’s right here. (Point at the word in the speech bubble) Do you guys see that word? Any of you guys know that one? Cool Student: Rag? Other Cool Student: Raggy? Like what Scooby Doo calls Shaggy? Cool Teacher: (Chuckles to himself) Not quite. That word is rage. (Gives simple definition of rage.) (Words: Rage and Ripple introduced) (It’s not exactly a grand spelling word, but I’ll say it’s an example of a term students are used to or something. This isn’t the most appropriate book I could have done this for. But it’s actually easier than what I had bought.) |
